SPECTRAL (Security and Privacy for Emerging Computing Technologies Research and Applications Lab) is a research lab directed by Tu Le in the Computer Science Department at The University of Alabama. Our lab focuses on the intersection between Security and Privacy and Human-Centered Computing, with applications to emerging technologies (such as IoT/AI/smart spaces) and technology policy. Specifically, we study usable security and privacy problems and the implications of technology and policy. The overarching goal is to bridge the gaps between computing applications’ behaviors and user perceptions/preferences, as well as inform secure and privacy-respecting designs for future smart environments.
